So...what is vappu?
If you have lived in Finland, or met some Finns, you might have come across the word "vappu".
Or maybe you've found yourself in Finland on April 30th and wondered just what was going on?
Just mentioning this time to a Finn stirs some kind of nostalgia and maybe even a smile.
Vappu is nothing short of an amazing experience, but it's not really heard of outside of Finland. Sure, people acknowledge the first of May and Labor Day, but I'm not sure I've found any other nationality who really celebrates it, like the Finns.
